With the release of the 2009 Rainbow Brite is says that "Rainbow Brite is one of Rainbow Land’s four Sky Powers"

Who or what are the sky powers?
Characters whose magical powers determine the cycles of Rainbow Land’s days and seasons.
In the frame of the webisode for the new products it shows 4 symbols in each corner. At this time it is assumed that these 4 symbols are the sky powers.
1: A sun: Tickled Pink
2: A rainbow: Rainbow Brite
3: A moon: Moonglow
4: A cloud: while it isn't mentioned it appears a 4th character will control clouds. In the previous product line, this was Stormy.
How are they controlled?
Each girl has a magic wand, and each wand controls the powers.
Star Scepter
Used by Rainbow Brite is a crystal star and rainbow.
Moon Scepter
Used by Moonglow, is blue, lavender, and violet with a cresent moon and star with ribbons.
Sun Scepter
Used by Tickled Pink, is a pink hook shape with a sun in a pink cage/orb.
